The aim of this course is to introduce the basic concepts and tools in making managerial decisions in Aviation Industries. In particular, it will focus on various ways of modeling decision problems in order to enhance decision-making skills.

The objectives of this course include:

  • To introduce an overview of the broader field of financial accounting and the role it plays as the “language of business” in business organizations. 
  • To develop ethics and social responsibility in accounting professions, to reduce earnings managements and improve ethical information reporting. 
  • To understand basic conceptual framework of accounting, the accounting principles and standards based on GAAP relating to valuation and reporting of asset, liability and equity items, ethical implications in auditing.

The module covers most of the operational services occurring at an airport for air transport excepting Air Navigation Services: 

  • how to provide services on the airport and
  • how to operate the existing infrastructure of an airport, for the highest standards of safety, reliability, efficiency and comfort that are expected by authorities, operators, partners and passengers for a flight.

Air Traffic Management 

The objectives of this course include

  • Global context and laws: introduction to air traffic control, ATM in phases of flight, international organizations, ATFM and measures
  • ICAO context: GANP (Global Air Navigation Plan)
  • Examples of applications: Communication, Navigation, Surveillance systems

 

Sustainable Air Transport 

The objectives of this course is to raise awareness on Sustainable Development concept and how the Air transport sector integrates in this concept, to identify key elements of a sustainable development policy.
